Irish Coffee -
"Cream, rich as an Irish
brogue;
Coffee, strong as a friendly hand;
Sugar, sweet as the
tongue of a rogue;
Whiskey, smooth as the wit of the land"
Irish Whiskey
Strong black coffee
Sugar
Double Cream |
Warm a stemmed whiskey glass
and pour in one third of a glass of Irish whiskey. Add 1 to 2 teaspoons of sugar,
then fill to about 1 inch of the rim with hot, strong, black coffee. Stir to
dissolve the sugar then top up with 1 tablespoon of double cream, pouring it gently into
the glass down the back of the bowl of a teaspoon. Do not stir, but drink the Irish
Coffee through the cream. |
